Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh stopped in this village for a short time in the course of his journey from M&#257chh&#299v&#257&#7771&#257 into interior of M&#257lv&#257 in December 1705. He was still disguised as the P&#299r of Uchch. As a local farmer, Fatt&#257 by name, came to pay homage and offered to render any service he would command, the Gur&#363 asked him to lend him a horse. Fatt&#257 went home and brought a gaunt mare. The Gur&#363 rejected it and said that nothing except his best horse would do. Fatt&#257 evaded the Gur&#363's bidding by making a false excuse that the horse had been taken away by his son-in-law. The Gur&#363 smiled and resumed his journey in the palanquin; but when Fatt&#257 returned home, he found that his horse had died of a snakebite.

A Mañj&#299 S&#257hib established later to commemorate the Gur&#363's visit has since been replaced by a larger building. It comprises a rectangular hall, with the sanctum within and a verandah around it. There is a domed square room above the sanctum. The Gurdw&#257r&#257, on the top of a mound, is administered by the Shiroma&#7751&#299 Gurdw&#257r&#257 Parbandhak Committee through a village committee.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

Gi&#257n Si&#7749gh, Gi&#257n&#299, Tw&#257r&#299kh Gurdu&#257ri&#257&#7749.
